Xbox confirmed yesterday that Xbox Series X will launch in November
but the specific launch date was not revealed. Today the Verge’s Tom Warren suggests that the next-gen console could launch on November 6, 2020.
Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.
Warren received a leaked image of what he affirms that is the Series X controller, in a warning label, the Xbox’s marketing team tells it’s retail partners that the contents of the box cannot be displayed before November 6.
An anonymous tipster, who recently purchased an unreleased Xbox Series X controller, sent me an image earlier this week of what is claimed to be the box that these controllers are stored in at distributors. The box specifically tells retail stores (that receive the shipments) not to sell or display the controllers until November 6th. Microsoft has used similar orange “street date” stickers on packages at its retail stores in the past, too.
Is important to mention that the leaked image is by no means a confirmation of the console’s release date, Gaming Instincts can’t confirm that the box displayed in Warren’s Tweet comes from Microsoft. Being that said, there has been a miscommunication problem between SEGA and Microsoft, the Japanese publisher confirmed that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a launch title for Xbox Series X, a few weeks later Microsoft confirms that the game will be available on November 12, 2020.
SEGA’s unintentional leak is in accordance with recent information from an alleged leaker, PS5 launching on November 14 in Japan, followed by a worldwide launch on November 20. If the alleged leak is to be believed the PS5 will cost $500. The information does not reveal if the price tag is for the all-digital version of PS5.
