Xbox Series X Launches In November

After weeks of rumor and leaks, Xbox has confirmed that the most powerful next-gen console will be available on November, the big news was shared by Will Tuttle, Editor in Chief for Xbox Wire. Tuttle also shared the Halo Infinite’s delay. Xbox Series X launch would’ve surely benefitted from a new Halo game, however, Tuttle reassures fans that Xbox Series X will launch with “over 100 optimized for Xbox Series X titles”. Those games are allegedly built to take full advantage of the powerful hardware.

Our vision at Xbox and 343 Industries has always been to deliver the most ambitious Halo game ever for our fans, while also balancing the team’s well-being.  To do that, we will need some more time to finish the critical work necessary to launch Halo Infinite, which will come in 2021.

Tuttle also takes the opportunity to remind the Xbox community as well as interested buyers that Xbox Series X features hardware hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing, framerates up to 120 frames per second, and Quick Resume for multiple games. However, some of his claims might warn those with a keen eye that perhaps, Xbox Series X might not launch with a true next-gen game that takes the full potential of the most powerful console.

“Playing will look and feel better, no matter which games you choose to play on day one.” Certainly, one of the biggest selling points of Xbox Series X is Smart Delivery, a feature that “empowers” players to buy a game once and play on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, or Xbox Series X.

Smart Delivery is a new technology introduced with Xbox Series X that will ensure you always play the best version of the games you own for your console, across generations. For example, this means if you purchase the Xbox One version of a supported title, we will identify and deliver the best version of it to your Xbox One, as usual. If you decide to jump into the next generation with Xbox Series X, we will automatically provide the Xbox Series X optimized version of the game at no additional cost if and when it becomes available. Is important to mention that Xbox can promise Smart Delivery only on Xbox Game Studios’ games.

Will Tuttle made a shortlist of what  potential buyers can look forward ahead of the console’s launch:

  • More than 50 new games planned for this year across generations and optimized for Xbox Series X, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5, Gears Tactics, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Watch Dogs: Legion. With Smart Delivery you only have to buy these games once to play the best versions for your console, across generations.
  • New games developed for Xbox Series X and launching with Xbox Game Pass, including exclusives like The Medium, Scorn, Tetris Effect: Connected, and more.
  • More than 40 popular games newly optimized to take full advantage of Xbox Series X such as Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Madden NFL 21, and more.

While Xbox is still not ready to reveal the specific date of the launch of Xbox Series X, SEGA might have leaked the official date of the powerful console, as they stated that Yakuza: Like a Dragon “will release on day one of the console’s release date”. In what seems like a lack of communication from both companies, Microsoft listed Yakuza: Like a Dragon in its store to be available on November 12th.

SEGA’s leak is in accordance with a recent rumor about PS5 launching on November 14 in Japan, followed by a worldwide launch on November 20. If the alleged leak is to be believed the PS5  will cost $500. The information does not reveal if the price tag is for the all-digital version of PS5.
