Yakuza: Like a Dragon is Now Available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam. Three versions of the game are currently available for purchase: The Day Ichi Edition, The Hero Edition, and the Legendary Hero Edition. The Day Ichi Edition, which costs $59.00, comes with the Legends Costume Set, with eight costumes to choose from, containing fan-favorite skins from across the Yakuza series. The physical version of the Day Ichi Edition comes with a steel case. The Hero Edition, which costs $69.99, has everything the Day Ichi Edition contains, plus the full in-game crafting set, karaoke set, Ultimate Costume set and stat boost set. Sub-stories are still very much a part of this game. Yakuza has always been known for having hundreds of mini-games scattered throughout the world, and this iteration of the series is no different. Yakuza: Like A Dragon introduces turn-based combat, with a four-person battle team. In Yakuza fashion, team members can use items in the environment around them to use against their enemies, including bikes, traffic cones, and the odd potted plant. Jobs make a return, adding to the RPG character class variability. This is the first main game to not have Kazuma Kiryu as its protagonist, being replaced by Ichiban Kasuga, who is much more outspoken and brash than Kiryu. The game begins after Kasuga is released from an 18-year prison sentence for a crime that he took the fall for. After saving his life, the leader of his clan asks him to take the hit. Upon his release, Kasuga finds that no one remembers him and that his clan was betrayed and lost all their notoriety in the process. Met by an ex-detective as he leaves prison, Kasuga vows vengeance against the clan that destroyed his life. This begins Kasuga’s descent down the rabbit hole, engaging in conspiracy after conspiracy on his path toward finding justice. Changing the main character and adding their own story to the Yakuza world is a welcome twist to the Yakuza format.
